Blogs are being employed by marketing and public relations professionals for getting out their company message. Search engine optimization professionals add a blog component to existing websites for the SEO purpose of gaining better search engine rankings.
Customer service and market research professionals are receiving valuable service and product feedback through blog comments.
Professional blogging is now a business and a career choice.
Blogs can become businesses in their own right, generating revenue equivalent to many micro and small businesses.
Blogs are enabling writers to produce and successfully market their books like never before.
Yes, blogging as an industry, is movin' on up.
Anyway, back to the Bloggies.
The phenomenon of blogging awards is growing, and just like clockwork, arrives the usual criticism along with it. Of course, being an optimist, I believe that that all publicity for blogs and blogging awards is good for the industry.
Some skeptics and critics believe there are too many blogging awards. While that might arguably be the case, we must also consider the fact that bloggers deserve recognition for their achievements too.
Business bloggers have long been left out of the awards party.
The recent Business Blogging Awards was an attempt to correct that glaring awards oversight.
Oh yes, you may have noticed that the Bloggies failed to have a Best Business Blog category.
I just thought you would like to know that little tidbit.
I'm sure the organizers of the sixth annual Bloggie Awards will add a Best Business Blog category for next year.
