Canadian Association of Journalists Annual meeting participation

The Canadian Association of Journalists holds its CAJ Conference 2005 this weekend in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

The three day CAJ Annual Conference begins on Friday, May 13 at the historic Fort Garry Hotel. The event runs until Sunday, May 15.

Among the presenters on Friday's session will be Jeremy Wright of Ensight and Inside Blogging.

Jeremy will be part of a panel discussing blogging.

On the Sunday session, I will be part of a blogging panel as well. The session, where I will be a participant is titled "Blogging - How the computer has reshaped news coverage".

Blogging

How the computer he reshaped news coverage. Panelists include Saleem Kahn of Metro News in Toronto; Paul Wells, Macleans back-page columnist; blogger Hosein Durakshan of Editor: Myself and Wayne Hurlbert of Blog Business World.

My position on the panel will be providing insights into how business blogs have helped raise company, entrepreneur, and executive profiles in the media.

As we are all aware, business blogs are often read by journalists seeking information on a company. Business blogs are also perused by reporters looking for sources of expert opinion on a subject.

I plan to attend the Friday portion of the meeting, and visit with Jeremy Wright. If anyone else in Winnipeg wants to join us, please do so. The more the merrier. You don't even have to be a blogger!

More information on attending the CAJ Annual Conference is available at The Canadian Association of Journalists website.
